If there's anything good to come out of this tragedy for Ed Tincher and his family..it may be that no one was home when the massive home..and everything it in was destroyed.

“Pretty much well involved. Upon arrival, it was gone,” said East Bernstadt Fire Chief Will Broughton.

Tincher and his family were at the hospital welcoming a new granddaughter, Briley, into the world when they found out their home was on fire. Firefighters arrived to find a home already halfway destroyed.

“We had problems with water, getting the water supply established. Unfortunately it's one of these places where we don't have wet hydrants,” said Broughton.

The heat also proved to be factor.

“Had some guys get overheated. We had to get them rehabilitated,” said Broughton.

Ed Tincher says he has insurance, but he says it's not enough to cover everything, including some valuables, a gun collection and the belongings of several family members.

Tincher says he thinks the fire may have started in the garage..where a truck was parked. And he thinks a propane heating system for the swimming pool could have been a factor...along with wind.

“He'd do anything in the world for you, if you needed it. It's so unfortunate for them,” said Broughton of Tincher and his family.

The cause is under investigation, but the chief says arson does not stand out as a factor.
