A Laurel County man police say escaped from the courthouse moments before he was to be taken into custody has been caught.

Police say they arrested 37-year-old Jason Collett Wednesday morning in Whitley County.

He's now in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Police say he was in court Tuesday on charges he wrote bad checks.

The judge ordered him to go to jail, but officers say Collett got away from the bailiff and ran out the back door.
